Category: Let's talk
I'm wondering if anyone here knows a good prepaid phone card or long distance plan for calling from the U.S. to Germany. Since I'm on a slow connection and don't often voice-chat, it would be easier to call someone on the phone, but I wouldn't want to sell my soul just to pay the price. So, anyone have any suggestions? I've looked at onesuite ($0.40-a-minute) so anyone know anything cheaper?

You must be under a slight misapprehenstion. The OneSuite.com rate to Germany is 0.04 dollars (or 4 cents) a minute. It's only 3 cents a minute if you call from a local number rather than the 800 number (800 826 9339 I think). If you have unlimited local plan you can find a local OneSuite number in your area, by zip code or address and call that rather than the 800 number for the long distance call. I've done a lot of research (ok, not much lately) and always found OneSuite by far the cheapest, and I call Iceland and Denmark an awful lot, especially Iceland, and 3 cents .. I mean the Spring state2state plan is like 7 cents a minute so I think it's not a bad deal .. 30 minutes for the dollar. <grin> No, I'm not associated with OneSuite (although, hey you could sign up with me as a referral <grin> but I won't ask you to) but I've used them for 4 years for international phone calls and I have been very happy and very impressed with them.
